Gris Grimly's Freakitorium is opening the cages once again and revealing the next three freaks in the series. "Needles the Patchwork Girl, Monkeybrain," and "Trout Head Man" will be officially available starting November 1, 2009 when they premiere at Gris Grimly's Cabaret Macabre at the Hollywood Magic Castle.
October 30 through November 1, 2009, Gris Grimly will be hosting his Cabaret Macabre event at the famous Hollywood Magic Castle. Last year's event at the Castle was so well received that he was requested to return. Tickets go on sale today at 2pm at The Magic Castle Website, use member code A19522 to access the tickets at this website. Last year's event sold out and tickets were in demand, so be sure to purchase yours before they are all gone! October 30-31 are for Magic Castle Members only. November 1 will be for all of Gris Grimly's Society of Graverobbers.
The third set of Ragnar's At The Academy series will officially release next Friday, August 28, 2009. This installment of the series features Ragnar's infamous top hatted character who has made appearances in his design work throughout his career. These are the first limited edition prints with the aesthetic appeal of Ragnar's Big City look that feature this character, and are sure to be a favorite for all Ragnar fans!

A few weeks back we announced that Gris Grimly's painting "When Everything is Said and Done...I am Nothing More Than a Lifeless Maggot" would be released as a limited edition for comicon. Surprise, surprise, as we always like to do, there will also be another limited edition premiering at SDCC this year, "High Contrast," as seen at left. Also, as you see below, the 3rd installment of behind the scenes footage from Grimly's new short film has been posted online. If you missed the first two, keep scrolling down and you'll find them!
Gris Grimly already posted behind the scenes videos for the first two weeks of primary shooting on his second short film, "Wounded Embark of the Lovesick Mind." We have inlcuded both videos below for your viewing pleasure. Also, both Gris Grimly and Ragnar have artwork for sale in Halloween Town's "Everyday is Halloween" Group Art show in Burbank, CA. This includes a brand new painting by Gris Grimly entitled, "Bad Deeds."
COMING IN JULY, the latest fine art print release from Gris Grimly will become available. We are still finalizing all of the details, but "When Everything is Said and Done...I Am Nothing More Than a Lifeless Maggot" will be officially released in San Diego. The original for this piece was created for the 2008 "Hi-Fructose" Group Art Show at Copro Gallery, and quickly became part of a fan's personal collection. We are excited to see this beauty become available, as you should be, so be sure to contact your local dealers to ensure you are contacted as soon as the edition is available!
Last week, Gris Grimly posted the official video he directed for Texas based band Ghoultown, entitled "Mistess of the Dark," on YouTube. The video was shot late last year and stars the Queen of Halloween herself, ELVIRA!
In other Gris Grimly film news, he is in the midst of production on his second independent short film entitled "Wounded Embark of the Lovesick Mind." The short is described by Grimly as a "Psychological Anti-Love Story," and considering his recent completion of Edgar Allen Poe's Tales of Death and Dementia, we are sure he had plenty of inspiration for the film!

San Diego Comic Con is just around the corner! It may seem far away, but tickets are selling fast, so be sure to buy your tickets in advance. We will be there, as well as Gris Grimly and Ragnar. Gris Grimly's newest books, Edgar Allan Poe's Tales of Death and Dementia will premiere at his Mad Creator Booth. There will be limited edition prints available at the convention from both artists, as well as a select assortment of original artwork. We are happy to announce that "Zombie Affection," as seen to the left, is being released as a limited edition print. This piece will officially see its live release at Gris Grimly's Mad Creator Productions booth at the Fangoria L.A. convention on April 17, 2009. This is a great piece from the Gris Grimly archives that was used in "Where Madness Reigns" and can now be part of your collection too!
Gris Grimly will be participating in the "Overdose" Group Art Show at CoproNason Gallery in Santa Monica, California, which opens Saturday April 4, 2009. This group show is a release of the new Hi-Fructose magazine and has an amazing roster of artists contributing original artwork for the event. The image to the left is a teaser of "The Broken Ballerina," which is also the first original new painting Gris Grimly has released in 2009! We recently released our first ever news letter. There was so much information to share about Gris and Ragnar with all of the projects they have been working on that I could not do just simple news posts here. We are talking about a traveling exhibition, over 6 books between the two artists, a huge movie deal, and so much more! At the end of last year, Warner Brothers Consumer Products kicked off a traveling exhibition entitled "The Inspirations of Oz". The openining exhibition was seen at Art Basel Miami in December 2008 and it will be on tour throughout 2009. Warner Brothers Consumer Products also released a set of comemorative stamps featuring art from the exhibition. Both Gris Grimly and Ragnar participated in this exclusive show, and Ragnar's piece, titled "Vanquished," was chosen to as on one of the images for the stamps which are available at Stamps.com.
Gris Grimly will be participating in this year's "Crazy 4 Cult" Group Show at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles, CA (www.nineteeneightyeight.com), which opens Auguts 22, 2008. This is the second annual Crazy 4 Cult show, and Mr. Grimly has created a stunning new work of art, partially featured here on the left, based on the cult movie genius Ed Wood, for this show!

Here is the update you have been waiting for! IT IS OFFICIAL, Ragnar's newest releases will debut at the San Diego Comic Con convention this weekend. We will be releasing the first three pieces in his new "At The Academy" series which is a stunning depiction of his futuristic pin up girls. These pieces will officially release on the preview night at Comic Con on July 23rd. You can take a peak at these beauties on the "At The Academy" page. These are the first three pieces in a series of twelve which will be released quarterly over the next year. If you preorder the entire set now, you will receive matching edition numbers on all twelve pieces as they are released.
Also, Ragnar's Fragmentia exhibition will now come to life in a limited edition print. "The Longing" is a remarkable piece which was a one of the paintings done in the Fragmentia exhibition, and was then digitally rendered by Ragnar to become the cover of his new book, Symptomatica, and now this highly collectible limited edition print. New Release Teaser...We are nearing the release of multiple new prints from Ragnar. Be sure that you check back here later this week as we will be posting images and information on these upcoming releases within the next 7 days. We are very excited about these beautiful new pieces which Ragnar has created, and we know you will be just as amazed when you see what we have coming your way! And if you take a look to the left, you can catch a glimpse of the upcoming releases, and you will understand just why we had to give you this advance warning.
Great News! We have just been informed that The Dangerous Alphabet has just made its way to # 3 on the New York Times Best Sellers List. This is one of Gris Grimly's newest releases which just came out at the beginning of May and features the talented work of Mr. Grimly paired with the writing of renowned author Neil Gaiman. The week of July 20th is the second week this book has appeared on the acclaimed list, and we are looking forward to seeing it climb even higher. We have released one limited edition of the page for The Letter "S" which is exclusively available at Van Eaton Galleries, and it is a very small edition, so don't wait to order.
What is Ragnar working on? Well, he actually just released a new art book entitled Symptomatica. This book is available on Amazon and at select retailers, if you search "Ragnar" on Amazon you will find all of his Baby Tattoo Books releases. His last art book, Vernaculis, is close to being sold out, and Chromaphile has been sold out and is nearly impossible to find. So make sure to order your copy of Symptomatica now to ensure you can add it to your collection. And in case you forgot, it is July, which means that Comic Con San Diego is just around the corner! July 23 through the 27 at the San Diego Convention Center. For more information on signing/appearance times, be sure to check Mad Creator Productions and Little Cartoons. Also, a couple of authorized dealers who carry artwork from both artists will be in attendance, so this will be a great opportunity to see some of Gris Grimly and Ragnar's artwork in person, and an even better opportunity to add the artwork to your collection!
